Sony's new motion controller will be called the Move and will sell for less than $100 USD later this year. Sony has provided the first really interesting details on it's new motion controller for the PlayStation 3, officially dubbing the device as the 'Move', ditching the Arc codename which the peripheral has previously existed under. The first and most important detail is naturally the price, with Sony claiming that a bundle of Move controllers will retail for less than $100 USD when the device launches this Autumn. Sony has been keen to stress that the Move will complement existing controllers too, not replace them. The Move will sport an analog stick and buttons, but users can use a DualShock instead if they prefer. It's worth mentioning that Sony already makes use of SixAxis motion detecting in it's standard controllers. The Move will be used with the PlayStation Eye attachment too, which will detect movement and angles as players wield the wand-shaped Move. " We like to think this is the next-generation of motion gaming, " said SCEA's Peter Dille during the announcement at GDC 2010 (via GI.biz ). " Nintendo has done a great job introducing motion gaming to the masses.

Onlive, the cloud-based games system, will launch in the US this June for a $15 per month subscription fee. Onlive , the controversial cloud-based games system which has had tech-heads arguing since it was first announced last year, will launch in the US on June 17th. The premise for the system is simply that gameplay is streamed back to players over the internet, with the actual computing done in Onlive server farms. Player inputs are pinged over to the farms and results are sent back as video, continuously. The theory is technically sound, but doubts have been raised over how viable the idea is on current internet connections. Either way, Onlive is confident the system will work and has signed up publishers like EA, Ubisoft, 2K Games and THQ to support the system from launch

Sometimes bringing a new extension into the world is a bit like childbirth. It's not an easy process, as the continuing saga of Ubiquity shows us. Mozilla made their position on Ubiquity quite clear recently ("back burner"), and only made the 0.1 branch compatible with Firefox 3.6. However, the reason that I've switched metaphors on you ( quiet death versus childbirth ) is that now, a user (dare I say, a community hero) by the name of Satyr has stepped up to the plate and taken on the task of maintaining Ubiquity 0.5x (the "beta branch") for Firefox 3.6 and up. He is currently distributing his version via a direct link to bitbucket.org . Jono Xia has also written a post in the Ubiquity blog backing Satyr up, so this is apparently the real deal. This is great news, because it means there is still hope for Ubiquity. Good ideas don't die so fast -- and neither do implementations, as it turns out.
This is great news, because it means there is still hope for Ubiquity

In an interview with Joystiq during the 2010 Game Developer's Conference , THQ's executive VP of Core Games Danny Bilson let a few new details slip about the upcoming sequel to the critical-smash hit Red Faction: Guerrilla . "The new game takes [ Red Faction ] to a whole new place, it kind of goes back to the old Red Faction because about 80% of it is underground," Bilson said. According to Bilson, the as-yet-properly-named sequel -- which he describes as a "hybrid" between the first two titles in the Red Faction franchise and Guerrilla -- is planned for release in March 2011. (In February, THQ's annual investors conference call vaguely stated a Guerrilla sequel was planned for the company's "fiscal 2011" window.) Bilson was tight-lipped on other details but did confirm the upcoming open-world third-person shooter would be far more "structured," akin to a "narrative" shooter. The sequel will still feature the destructibility Bilson says cost THQ "a fortune" to develop for Guerrilla , but will have a much greater impact on cities built closer together in the tight confines of the new underground world. Although Guerrilla captivated most critics (netting a Metacritic average of 85 across three platforms) the third-person shooter failed to meet THQ's sales expectations. While Bilson said it would have been easy to scrap the characters and setting in the upcoming sequel and shift it into a new intellectual property -- effectively severing its connection to Guerrilla 's poor retail showing -- he felt the quality in the previous entry was too great to abandon the Red Faction universe.

Chatroulette , the anonymous video chat service that has captured the Internet's imagination (and free time), is known for wanton nudity and crazy stunts. That's because of the "anonymous" part of Chatroulette. You can be anyone you want, and you can wear anything you want (or not)! However, Chatroulette isn't as anonymous as we previously supposed. A new site called Chatroulette Map has begun the process of matching IP addresses with locations and screenshots. That means you can see, on a map, where that weird naked guy, attractive dude, or fake Jonas Brother was really chatting from. It's not a real-time service (yet), but the database has nearly 2500 screenshots mapped as I write this. So, think twice next time you take your 'personal belongings' out on camera. It might just put you on the map. Share Источник: www.pheedcontent.com , получено с помощью rss-farm.ru

We have no doubt you've been counting the days (likely via tick marks on the wall), waiting for more information on Zootfly/SouthPeak Games' Prison Break , so you'll be glad to hear that the game finally got a solid release date (March 30) and a price ($49.99 on 360/PS3, $39.99 on PC) today from its publisher. Along with the mess of new screens we've dropped below into a gallery, this is just about the most flush we've been with Prison Break info in the entire history of the game's development cycle -- and it's coming out in just under three weeks! As the game's coming from the developer of Mr. T: The Game , we're willing to give this one a shot just so we can support the company's upcoming adventure into madness .
