The Chromium source code has seen a number of changes recently, and a new feature which poked its head out earlier this weekend has now landed. You can now enable auto-translation of pages in Chromium. Just add the –auto-translate switch to your Chromium shortcut and head over to a foreign language web page to test it out. A Google Translate bar will appear, and you can then click the button to convert all text on the page. Translated text appears without reloading the page itself, and you won’t have long to wait — pages I tested were completed within four seconds or less. Not sure how to enable the feature

For the last few days Amazon and Macmillan have been waging a tiny little war over the future of eBook pricing. You may have missed it, because unlike most wars, the stakes in this battle aren’t all that visible. Digital book sales still make up a relatively small portion of the digital media world and pale in comparison to the growing markets for digital music and movie downloads. But as eBook readers including the Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, and the upcoming iPad make it easier and easier to find, purchase, and read eBooks, sales are likely to pick up. You’d think that would be a good thing for book publishers. But here’s the thing: Amazon , one of the driving forces behind physical and digital book sales, has been refusing to charge more than $9.99 per eBook for new release titles.

How much are you willing to pay for eBooks? (Macmillan wants $15)

Considering the extent to which Farmville has enraptured the hearts and minds of 95 percent of the Facebook-using populace, we’re not surprised that Natsume has decided to bring yet another installment in the Harvest Moon franchise to the States. According to Siliconera , American store shelves will play host to Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley for the PSP in April. The game will task you with staving off the expansion of The Funland Corporation’s chain of amusement parks into your home town of Leaf Valley. You’ll do so in the most logical manner imaginable: By repeatedly performing various agricultural chores. Yeah, that’ll show ‘em! Источник: www.joystiq.com , получено с помощью rss-farm.ru

We love Nobuo Uematsu’s work on the musical accompaniment for the Final Fantasy franchise, but we often find ourselves wishing those games’ scores were infused with a touch of Jay-Z. Maybe a light smattering of Outkast. The faintest hint of Ghostface Killah. The mixologists from Team Teamwork (creators of the similarly-spliced Ocarina of Rhyme album) have once again worked their magic on a classic video game soundtrack. This time around, it’s the score from Final Fantasy VII , which has been mashed together with tracks from over a dozen hip-hop artists, as well as Tom Waits, which is just weird . You can pay whatever you want to download the cleverly-titled Vinyl Fantasy 7 — though we’re betting you’ll probably settle on zero dollars .
