Tekken 6 continues to get more bizarre. Famed all-female mangaka group CLAMP (known for Cardcaptor Sakura , X/1999 , xxxHolic , Code Geass ) is designing new costume designs for Namco Bandai’s upcoming fighter. Here, we see Jin wearing a wardrobe that would fit perfectly in CLAMP’s Tsubasa Chronicle . Obviously, the addition of one of the most popular shoujo groups in Japan is meant to increase Tekken ’s appeal beyond male gamers. In fact, the high-pitched ringing you may be hearing right now is the sound of thousands of anime fan girls squeeing in unison whilst holding onto Kero-chan plushies. Future Intel CPUs will be broadly named over the Core brand, with i3, i5 and i7 “modifiers” depending on performance and features. Intel has spilled the beans on its future CPU naming, claiming to have acted in an effort to simplify things, but in effect, quite the opposite has happened for us home builders. The Core 2 Duo and Quad brands will vanish and will be replaced modified progressively after Lynnfield arrives with Core i3, i5 and i7 monikers. That’s not to say Lynnfield equals Core i5 though. Instead, Lynnfield will span Core i5 and Core i7 brands and the choice of brand will vary between features (like HyperThreading) and processor performance. Intel spins its Core marketing modifier as: ” For example, upcoming processors such as Lynnfield (desktop) will carry the Intel Core brand, but will be available as either Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 depending upon the feature set and capability.

The Mozilla Service Week aims to bring people with technology knowledge together with those who can benefit from their help. Not content with racing up the market share charts with its open-source web browser, the Mozilla Foundation is looking to improve peoples’ lot in life with the Mozilla Service Week. The week – which is scheduled to take place starting on September 14th – looks for people to “ step up and make a difference by using the Web to better their community. ” As described on the Mozilla Blog , the aim of the week is to encourage technologically-minded individuals to use their powers for good, helping out charities, non-profits, and people who just need a bit of a helping hand. As befits a technology company, the Foundation’s aims are nicely nerdy: examples given include the wonderfully patronising “ teach senior citizens how to use the Web, ” along with the more laudable “ install a wireless network at a school, create Web how-to materials for a library’s computer cluster, refurbish hardware for a local computer centre, [and] help a non-profit update its website or database. ” Mark Surman, executive director of the Foundation, said that it was “ inviting people to get involved with Mozilla in an active way, even if they can’t code, test or localise. It lets anyone and everyone feel like they are contributing to the cause of building a better internet

There’s been a story floating around lately about the PS3 being banned from UK prisons. Well, that story is actually this one from 2007. But, all of this talk of consoles behind bars pushed INCGamers to action, and the site recently spoke with someone in the know and confirmed that UK convicts have not been able to use gaming systems with Wi-Fi capabilities for some time now. “Prisoners in England and Wales have never been allowed access to wireless enabled technology such as that used in some games consoles,” a spokesperson said. “A decision was taken some years ago that the then current generation of games consoles should be barred because the capability to send or receive radio signals is an integral part of the equipment.
